The word is out! The Pinewood Lake Wildfire Action Group (PLWAG) was heavily featured in the Reporter-Herald for our recent neighborhood emergency evacuation drill. It is incredible to see our community's hard work and dedication to wildfire safety recognized on a larger stage.

The article highlights how our neighborhood works together to stay prepared:
Emergency Communications: Pete and Angie Robbins demonstrated our community GMRS radio network, showing how neighbors can stay connected and relay critical updates even when mountain cell service cuts out completely.
The Buddy System & Preparedness: Lisa and Gib Coalwell led presentations teaching residents about the importance of a neighborhood "buddy system" - ensuring everyone has someone nearby to check in on them, share document checklists, and help out during an actual evacuation. As Lisa wisely noted, "It needs to be a community of people helping each other."
A huge thank you to Lisa, Gib, Pete, Angie, and every single neighbor who showed up to practice and build a more resilient community. We are safer because we do this together!
