Chief Sendelbach of the Loveland Fire Rescue Authority (LFRA) has provided an update on the inclusion process, outlining the steps and timeline for potentially expanding the LFRA service area.
While Chief Sendelbach shared a comprehensive calendar, we've distilled the key dates into an easy-to-follow timeline so you can stay informed:
Here's what you need to know:
April 9, the Fire District Board approved the inclusion areas, and set June 11 as the public-hearing date to discuss holding an Inclusion Election for each inclusion area.
May 12-22, a notice of the public hearing on inclusion will be mailed to each property owner within the proposed inclusion areas. A notice of the public hearing on inclusion will also be published in the Loveland Reporter-Herald on May 14.
May 30 is the last day a property owner can file a request for exclusion from the inclusion area.
June 11 The District Board will conduct a public hearing to hold an Inclusion Election for each inclusion area.
June 12 The District Board will request that the Larimer County District Court set the inclusion election for August 26, appoint a Designated Election Official, designate a polling place location, and approve the ballot question.
August 19 is the last day to request an absentee ballot (close of business on Tuesday preceding election). This ballot must be postmarked or transmitted electronically by 7:00 p.m. on the day of election,
August 26 Election Day, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Understanding the Proposed Inclusion Areas:
Chief Sendelbach also provided a map illustrating the four proposed inclusion areas:
Pinewood: Shown in terracotta red on the map.
Buckskin Heights
Upper Buckhorn
Storm Mountain (Upper Filings)

It's important to note that the Chief mentioned a minor technical issue with the mapping system that might show some gaps in the service boundary. However, he assured everyone that all parcels within the extended boundaries will be included, pending the outcome of the election.
