The Chimney Hollow Reservoir Project has several scheduled tour dates.
Space is limited and will be filled on a first come, first served basis. Each person must register individually to save a spot. Once the tour is full, the registration page will indicate that the tour is full, but you may join the waitlist.
Tours will continue through October, so stay on the look out for upcoming dates.
Several members of our community recently went on a tour and here is a brief summary of what the tour consisted of.

Pickup was at the Northern Colorado Water building in Berthoud at around 8:45AM. After a brief introduction and safety discussion, heavy emphasis on proper attire (Long Pants, Closed-toe shoes, wear provided safety vest and don't forget sunscreen, a hat & water, about 25 people boarded a bus for the 25 minute ride up to an Eastern side overlook of the dam project.
It's a short walk from where they park the cars to the overlook. From here you can see everything being done to build this dam. Quarry, Processing, Asphalt Core, Valve House, Concrete plant and more.

Our tour guides gave a history on the inception of the reservoir project and answered dozens of questions. The best was "How did Chimney Hollow get it's name?", "Who owned the property prior to the project?", "Will the filling of this reservoir impact Pinewood Reservoir?", "What was the final budget?"
For more information, visit the Chimney Hollow Reservoir Project website.
A couple of dates for the project:
